Stitch Fix Review - January
I don't envy my Stitch Fix stylists. I can be very particular about clothes, and I can't imagine I'm an easy case to style. On top of that, this month, I forgot to write a note to my stylist, so she really had the cards stacked against her.
(Confused? Wondering what Stitch Fix is? Let me enlighten you!

I received the "your fix has been shipped!" email, and peeked at what items were on their way. I wasn't feeling optimistic, but, shock and awe, I loved what was sent to me!
In the note sent my by stylist for this fix, Kristin, it was clear that she'd checked out the blog, my past fixes and my Pinterest board. I got a fix full of items that felt true to me! Ooh la la!
Let's get started:
ITEM: Cupcakes and Cashmere Landen Double Breasted Blazer, Size 4
THOUGHTS: I loved the double-breasted style of this jacket, but I already have another black blazer. I don't think I would wear this enough to justify it's price tag ($148), and, while it's well-made, it didn't fit me as well I'd prefer.
VERDICT: Return
ITEM: Pixley Amycus Embroidered Pullover, Size S
THOUGHTS: I loved this sweater! It was soft and cozy, and I loved the floral embroidery and fun sleeves. As I mentioned before, if an item makes me feel like a fortune teller in a traveling caravan, I'm all about it. This sweater definitely fit the bill. However, I struggle pulling off oversized, and I didn't feel that this sweater did much for me. It was a sweater-wearing-me, not me-wearing-the-sweater situation. I considered exchanging for an XS, but none were available.
VERDICT: Return (sadly)
ITEM: Kensie Rubin Sleeveless Duster Cardigan, Size S
THOUGHTS: I was excited to see this long knit vest because I'd pinned a similar item. However, once I had this on, I didn't feel like it did much for me. The gray/oatmeal color didn't excite me and I felt a bit ho-hum overall. If this item was a different color or had a pattern, I probably would have kept it.
VERDICT: Return
ITEM: Just Black Rico Frayed Ruffle Hem Straight Leg Jean, Size 4
THOUGHTS: I was excited to try these jeans! My collection of pants is in desperate need of some updating, and I thought this particular trend could be fun. Unfortunately, at 5'4, these were just too long on me. I think if there was a petite option, that would have been perfect. Despite the length, they were comfortable and flattering.
VERDICT: Return
ITEM: Nine Britton Niya Scallop Detail Knit Dress, Size S
THOUGHTS: I pinned a dress similar to this one, but green. This fit well, I liked the scallop detail and the neckline. One quirk - the dress doesn't have a zipper, and there's a button and loop closure at the back of the neck. It is very difficult to close. I couldn't do it while wearing it, asked Christian for help, he also struggled, and then I even struggled securing it when I was folding it later. If this dress were the green color of the one I pinned, I would have kept it for sure. I decided to return it. I already have several black dresses, and couldn't justify another one.
VERDICT: Return
I know it seems a bit backwards to say I loved a fix when I'm returning all five items, but I did really enjoy this fix. I asked to keep Kristin for next month, and I'm excited to see what I end up with when I actually write a note!
